Let’s be honest—diets are a joke. They don’t give a damn about your body, let alone your mental health. If they did, you wouldn’t be constantly hungry, frustrated, and searching for answers. You wouldn’t be here, reading this.
When you actually feed your body what it needs, you’re not hungry. You feel amazing. You look amazing. Isn't that the whole point of eating well? Diets should be teaching us how to enjoy food again—not making us dread every meal.
Eating should be a pleasure, not a punishment. The second it starts to feel like a chore, you know you’re doing it wrong. You don’t need a cage of dietary do's and don’ts. And you don’t need to go full-on organic-store-addict either. Sure, that works for some people, but let’s keep it real—life’s complicated enough. The goal is to nourish your body without losing your damn mind or falling into the trap of orthorexia.
Here’s Why Diets Are Straight-Up Garbage:
- Diets are boring.
They’re repetitive, tedious, and completely suck the joy out of food. Food is supposed to be fun, not a chore!
- Diets are restrictive.
They teach you to ignore your body’s signals. Craving something? Too bad. Diet says no.
- Diets are like prison.
They lock you up and throw away the key, denying you life’s simple pleasures. Is surviving on lettuce really living?
- Diets make you anti-social.
Trying to enjoy dinner with friends while nibbling on celery? Yeah, no thanks. Social isolation much?
- Diets make you miserable.
Hungry, tired, frustrated—does any of that sound like fun? Didn’t think so.
- Diets dumb you down.
You’re starving your brain and body of the fuel they need. You’re operating at 50%, and it shows.
- Diets slow your metabolism.
Ironically, by demanding you eat less, they can wreck your metabolism—and you might even end up gaining weight.
- Diets are dangerous.
They can trigger eating disorders, mess up your relationship with food, or wreck your immune system. Fun times.
- Some diets are outrageously expensive.
Spending a fortune just to feel like crap? Pass.
So unless you’re a total masochist, why on earth would you follow a diet?
